Harper Offers False Choice for Middle East Peace

Harper Offers False Choice for Middle East Peace

As published in the Canadian Charger: February 18, 2014

Inspired perhaps by the fading echoes of George W. Bush; Stephen Harper has presented Canadians with a false choice on Middle East peace: either voice “absolute, non-negotiable belief in Israel” or be declared an anti-Semite. Stephen Harper refuses to be a real friend to the Israelis in the sense that he excuses their more objectionable behaviour for the sake of political support, business deals and misplaced guilt.

Chemical Weapons: Yes to Israel in Gaza – No to Assad in Syria

Ottawa Sun: Sept. 7, 2013

We are being told that the Assad regime in Syria has used chemical weapons against opposition forces. While this may be so, I have seen no credible evidence in the corporate media. However, Human Rights Watch, the UN and Israeli peace groups have issued detailed reports on Israel’s use and abuse of this chemical weapon white phosphorous in Gaza during the IDF’s 2009 Operation Cast Lead. Where is the corporate media on this hypocrisy?

Humanity as Global Junkie-Five Planet Lifestyle

Humanity as Global Junkie
Cape Breton Post May 16 2012

The current state of humanity’s collective and protracted abuse of the biosphere may be compared to an addict reaching the stage of active addiction where denial begins to erode. As it is no longer possible to pretend that another hit is safe; it is likewise impossible for us to persist with the fantasy of infinite resources, the planet’s innate resilience or technological salvation. Like a drunk with a salvageable liver; the human species may yet have the time and grace to prevent the world’s slide into Hell.

C@P Capped – Corporate Welfare More Important
Victoria Standard May 13 2012

So Industry Minister Lisa Setlakwe says that the Community Access Program (C@P) program has “achieved its objectives” and has cancelled it sans consultation and warning. Is the Internet now irrelevant? I guess Industry Canada needs the money to finance the endless task of subsidizing corporate Canada. That endless task is permanently open-ended.

Khadr VS Bush - Who's the real war criminal?

Khadr VS Bush - Who's the real war criminal?
Ottawa Sun April 20 2012

According to current U.S. law, Omar Khadr is a war criminal worthy of 40 years imprisonment for killing a Special Forces medic while George W. Bush gets $200, 000 per speaking engagement. This medic was a volunteer commando, cross-trained in all their deadly skills. According to International Law, Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeldt are also war criminals, but they are protected by U.S. power and exceptionalism. This is like comparing a mouse to a pack of hyenas.
